Introducing Mariposa Studio

Mariposa Living is evolving into what I now call Mariposa Studio—part of a larger landscape I think of as The Mariposa Realms.

It’s a place rooted in everyday life—where nourishment, grief and loss, transitions, learning, creativity, and reflection all have a place—but also one that opens into something broader.

Over time, I began to see that our lives are shaped not only by what happens, but by patterns that move beneath the surface. Cycles. Shifts. Moments that ask for attention, even when we don’t fully understand them yet.

The Mariposa Realms grew from that awareness.

At the center is the Studio—a lived, grounded space where daily experience unfolds and begins to take meaning.

Within the Studio, everyday life matters.  The Archetypal Kitchen, in particular, has become an important part of my work—not just as a place for food or recipes, but as a space of nourishment, traditions, care, and transformation. A place where simple, daily actions reflect something deeper.

From here, the landscape extends in two directions.

One turns outward—toward the visible world, society, and culture.
The other draws inward—toward our circle of community, memory, emotion, and the quieter, less visible layers of life.

Within this landscape, three spaces take shape:

  • The Studio — where we live, work, and make sense of everyday experience

  • The Observatory — where we step back to notice patterns, cycles, and the larger forces moving through our lives, often through the language of astrology

  • The Sanctuary — a quieter space, set slightly apart, for grief, reflection, and tending what feels unresolved or in transition

These spaces are not separate.

They are ways of moving—between experience and reflection, between what we live and how we begin to understand it.

  • Some reflections here are practical.

  • Some are personal.

  • Some are simply an invitation to see things differently.

If you feel drawn to explore—through reading, reflection, or conversation—you are welcome here.
